As the Washington Nationals completed the last of many comebacks Wednesday to win the World Series, the Good Counsel field hockey team, in the midst of its own playoff run, saw in the baseball team a group of kindred spirits.
Like the Nationals, the Falcons entered the postseason with an undistinguished record compared with their competition. Like the Nationals, the Falcons sometimes sputtered on offense. Like the Nationals, the Falcons continued to fight. So Good Counsel used the baseball team as its inspiration — and its fan-friendly anthem, "Baby Shark," as a rally song — for the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference tournament.
