Good Counsel rolls to a fourth straight WCAC wrestling championship

For awhile there, it looked like Gonzaga senior William MacDonald might never win a Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title. The Eagles' 152-pound standout took second place his freshman and sophomore years, and he fell in last year's semifinals after his opponent rolled through a headlock.
On Saturday afternoon, MacDonald saw a chance to claim his first conference crown on his home mat at Gonzaga. But the obstacle was a formidable one — two-time WCAC champion Bailey Thomas, a Good Counsel junior who hadn't lost a match since the Hub Cup finals four weeks ago.
