
As Lorenzo Harrison galloped the final 10 yards of his high school career, the defense left in his wake for the third time during Sunday's Washington Catholic Athletic Conference final, he soaked up the moment on the video board above, slowing his once-torrid pace to a celebratory stride.
Upon reaching the goal line, Harrison felt a push on his back from Good Counsel's Keandre Jones, jolting the DeMatha senior running back from his spell before both tumbled into the end zone for the decisive score in the No. 3 Stags' 48-17 win at Maryland's Byrd Stadium.
The season began with teams near and far trying to catch up to Harrison and DeMatha (11-1), a team loaded with Division I recruits and shouldering national championship expectations.
